Restructured Aoraki numbers are on track
Enrolments at Aoraki Polytechnic are tracking closely to budget as the institution settles into its new academic year.
Aoraki had budgeted for 756 full time equivalent students (EFTS) by the end of February, and ended up with 728. Initially Aoraki reported it had 747 at the end of February however students can withdraw from courses in the first month.
Aoraki has been through major restructuring in the past year due to financial losses and a drop in student numbers. In February last year 991 EFTS were enrolled, however the institution has had to downsize. The full year forecast for this year is 1269 EFTS.
Last year the institution announced the redundancy of 30 full-time positions. In February 2013 there were 242 staff, or 142 full-time equivalent roles.
Last month there were 30 fewer staff at 212, equating to 125.09 full-time equivalents.
Under the new structure four separate schools within the polytechnic have been combined into one.
