A man with a ''Bad Boy'' tattoo on his neck who was on the run from authorities was captured by armed police this morning and will face a dozen new charges. 

A warrant was issued for Rory Smyth's arrest last week after he failed to appear at the Auckland District Court on several charges including unlawful possession of shotgun ammunition.

The 25-year-old was also named as a ''person on interest'' by police 

investigating an armed robbery at Panmure nightclub Miss Q's on October 22.

During the robbery, tens of thousands of dollars were taken by a man armed with a shotgun.

Smyth was described by police as dangerous and known to be armed. 

A police spokeswoman said Smyth was found at a Pukekohe property early today and taken into custody without incident by the Armed Offenders Squad. 

He will face a dozen charges at the Auckland District Court today including weapons and drug charges. He has also been charged with the aggravated robbery of Miss Q's nightclub.
