The driver of a truck was lucky it did not tip over after it lost two wheels, Timaru sergeant Tony Woodbridge says. Members of the public alerted the truck driver in a fully laden logging truck on State Highway 8. The Commercial Vehicle Unit is investigating.

A young Timaru woman, 18, was stopped on South St for drink driving and blew 372mcg.
