INFO WANTED: Police are seeking help identifying this man.

Timaru police want public help to identify the man, left, in security camera footage, who they believe might be able to provide information about a BMX bike stolen from Aoraki Polytech on June 22. Anyone with information is asked to call Dave Hinde on 687 9808.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle parked in Selwyn St was hit by a passing car, possibly a bronze-coloured Skyline-style vehicle, about 1am today. The driver then fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.

A 27-year-old man was arrested after he was found urinating in a Stafford St doorway at 1.30am.

Two vehicles were involved in a minor crash at the corner of Le Cren and Church streets about 6.30pm yesterday. No injuries were reported.

A Timaru man, 18, was arrested for breach of the liquor ban in Stafford St.

Police attended a domestic incident between a mother and son about 6pm yesterday.


Several large stones were thrown at an IDEA Services home in Timaru about 10pm last night. Some stones were found on a deck at the rear of the property.

A Timaru man, 21, was arrested for breaching bail.

A Waimate man, 54, was charged with drink-driving.
