Three youths chose the centre of the roundabout at the intersection of Wai-iti and Otipua roads as the perfect place to take a load off, Timaru police say.
The young people apparently placed a couch there some time about 10.30am on Wednesday and were sitting on it when police arrived and moved them along.
A Gore woman, 19, was found to be driving while forbidden when she was stopped in King St at 2.40am. The vehicle, which lacked a valid warrant of fitness, was impounded.
A St Andrews woman, 42, lost control of her vehicle and crashed in Lyalldale Rd shortly after 9am. No injuries were reported.
