A black plastic wheelbarrow with aluminum handles and a large number of propagating flower and vegetable plants were reported stolen from a North St glasshouse.

The theft occurred between 7pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday. Police said a sighting of the wheelbarrow was reported Tuesday morning near the intersection of Avenue Rd and Clifton Tce, but when they arrived at the scene it was nowhere to be found.

A Timaru man, 24, was arrested on a warrant.

Someone attempted to enter a Dobson St residence in the weekend by forcing a window open.
