On Sunday a group of fully patched Black Power gang members from both Timaru and Christchurch were gathered outside a Stafford St bar at 2am in what police described as "a show of force".

A 5-month-old child was left unattended in a parked vehicle in the Stafford Mall carpark for about 30 minutes. Police spoke with the child’s mother, who said she forgot the child was in the vehicle.

A Timaru man, 19, smashed out a window in a Church St residence and was verbally abusive to his girlfriend after returning home at 3.40am. He suffered a minor injury and was taken to Timaru Hospital for treatment.

A 7-year-old girl reported that a male threw glass at her, hitting her on the arm, while she was in Lough Park shortly after 5pm. Police have not located a suspect.

Police pursued a red Mazda from Mountain View Rd to Adair Rd shortly after 8am yesterday, suspecting that the male driver had a disqualified licence. The vehicle was not located.

On Saturday police conducted a controlled purchase operation at 18 alcohol retailers between Pleasant Point and Twizel after 5pm. A minor was able to purchase alcohol at one establishment in Fairlie.
