Letter: Timaru Hospital
I have recently had some bad luck, and some very good luck.
The bad luck was when I became ill over the weekend. The very good luck was when my husband, despite my not wishing to go, took me to the Emergency Department at Timaru Hospital.
There I was swiftly seen, decisions were made, consultants and house surgeons arrived, and all the time the nursing staff were there, making sure I was comfortable, answering my questions and reassuring me.
Soon, I was in a ward bed. Treatment was started and proved very effective, and in three days I was home again.
I cannot thank the staff of the Emergency Department enough. I feel that here in Timaru we have a hospital of which we can be very proud.
