Breakfast rewards sporting volunteers

Just over 100 volunteers were recognised at the 2009 Sports Volunteer Breakfast.

The volunteers represented 39 clubs and associations and 15 schools from the south Canterbury region.

The nominees who attended received a complimentary breakfast, and a certificate recognising all the time and effort they gave to sport.

The guest speaker was twice-South Canterbury Sports Official of the Year and Triathlon New Zealand board member Juliet Fahey.

Sport South Canterbury would like to thank Active Health Services for their sponsorship and prizes and the Timaru District Council community development committee for their grant, without whose support the breakfast would not have been possible.
