SC trio make NZ futsal team

Three Timaru boys have made the New Zealand Futsal team which is heading to the Australasian National Champs this week.
After a successful season locally as part of the team which won both the South Island Under 16 Boys' championship held at the SBS Events Centre Stadium and the local men's competition, three Timaru boys, Patrick Hill, Tymon Bernard and Brett Clifford, were selected for the New Zealand Under 16s.
Timaru Boys' High School students James Blatherwick and Andrew Coyle will also be playing for the New Zealand Under 15s.
All Vikings New Zealand Futsal sides wrapped up training this weekend at QEII Park Stadium in Christchurch before heading to Sydney for the Vikings Futsal Championships on Tuesday.
Teams of seven or eight play in the fast five-a-side indoor football games run under Fifa rules, which is quickly gaining popularity across the world.
