The Legends Pro-Am Tournament is set to return to the Gleniti Golf Club next month.
The PGA-of-America-sanctioned event is one of four senior tournaments to be played in the South Island.
The first is at Pegasus on February 14, followed by Terrace Downs and Ashburton. The tour then takes a break for a day before hitting Gleniti on Saturday, February 18. Each tournament has a $10,000 purse, and after debuting at Gleniti last year, the organisers are hoping for plenty of support.
Peter Hayes, who shared the victory on his home course last year, will be keen to go one better. He tied with Australia's John Clifford with 69, at three-under-par, and will be one of the favourites.
Clifford is yet to be confirmed but Canadian Ian Clark is in the field and well as Southland's best senior, Jim Lapsley, while Timaru's Mark Sandri will also be a starter.
Gleniti president Jim Routhan said things were looking positive.
"We had great feedback from those who played in it last year and a number of Australians have also confirmed."
Routhan said anyone interested in playing in the teams event could contact him or the club.
"It is teams of three with one pro, whose score also counts."
Any amateur, with a maximum handicap of 24 for a man and 30 for a woman, interested in the tournament can play.
Entries close on February 11.
