Timaru rowers had plenty of success despite a weather-interrupted weekend at the South Island Rowing Championships at Lake Ruataniwha.
Crews raced until 12.30pm on Saturday, before high winds ended racing for the day.
The regatta was restarted at 6.30am yesterday, but most of the races were halved to 1000m contests and medals were awarded on fastest times in heats.
Timaru Boys' High School won four gold, three silver and two bronze medals, with the Crampton twins, Russell and Cameron, again dominating, following on from their dynamic 2011 form.
The brothers won a silver medal in the open men's quad and the men's under 19 pair, while they won gold in the men's under 19 double.
TBHS coach Gary Ivamy said it was one of their most successful regattas, and had given them plenty of encouragement two months out from the national secondary schools' Maadi Cup regatta, which will also be held on Lake Ruataniwha.
Roncalli College had 14 of their 16 rowers come away with a medal.
Seven medals were won in total – two gold and five silver.
The most impressive performance was in the under 15 girls double where Libby Davenport and Kate Shaw claimed gold in their 1000m race by 13 seconds.
Craighead Diocesan School won three gold, two silver and two bronze medals, with their wins coming in the under 16 eight, under 18 four and under 17 quad.
Coach Dean Milne said the tricky winds made racing a lottery at times.
Timaru Girls' High School got two rowers through to "A" finals, with Emma Weith in the under 17 single and Sarah Creed in the under 16 single.
The Maadi Cup regatta will run from March 26 to April 1.
