Ten South Canterbury swimmers will compete at the New Zealand Division Two Swimming Championships in Dunedin next week.
The most experienced of the group is Anton Van Vugt. He has competed at this level before, and will compete in eight events.
For the others this is a first time experience but they have made significant improvements to qualify.
Tim Colson will compete in eight events, Korlina Volkov seven, Bronte Davenport and Zara McLellan four each.
Maddie Bang has two swims while Alida Van Vugt and Quinn Van Zee will have one each.
The eight competitors will represent Timaru and will be joined by Dylan Mead of Waimate and Stuart Houston of Geraldine, who will compete in four events.
Team coach Rob Naylor said it will be a huge learning curve for them. "I am confident they have done all the necessary work to be able to acquit themselves well."
