The Kiwi presence at Wimbledon will continue for another day yet, with Timaru junior Emily Fanning winning her first round doubles match.
Paired with Ukrainian Oleksandra Korashvilli, the duo battled to secure a three set victory over Aliasksandra Sasnovich of Belarus and Donna Vekic of Croatia.
The 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 win came a day late, with the match initially scheduled for the previous day. The 17-year-old Kiwi then had to wait to be allocated an available court, meaning the match did not finish until close to 9pm.
Fanning, playing in her first junior Wimbledon, and Korashvilli will now take on the seventh seeds Belinda Bencic of Switzerland, who the Kiwi lost to in the singles first round, and Ana Konjuh of Croatia.
