The Heartland Championship kicks off this weekend with hopes high that this could be South Canterbury’s year.
The Herald has put together an expert panel, who will provide their selections each week of who they believe the winning teams will be in each round of games.
Former Scotland international and Otago favourite Brendan Laney joins Timaru mayor Janie Annear, whose son, Nick, plays for the Southland Stags, and South Canterbury rugby manager Cam Kilgour on the panel.
Already the three can’t agree with Poverty Bay the only unanimous choice for this weekend’s first round.
