South Canterbury rugby fans are getting a chance to win a new $30,000 Honda Jazz when the Heartland competitions kick-off in Timaru on Saturday.
The union has devised a "Chip & Win'' halftime promotion where three spectators will get a chance to chip a golf ball in a paddling from 50m during the half time break.
The union is hoping the idea will create interest and draw in a bigger crowd, for each of the home games this season.
If they get the ball in on the full (and it stays in the sand) they win the car.
This Saturday is already shaping up as a must win for South Canterbury against last year's Meads Cup finalist East Coast, who have Rua Tupoki in their ranks.
