The Timaru South Cosmopolitan Club's open fours indoor bowls tournament was decided in a tight finish.
St Joseph's were behind in their last game but skip Frank Good came to the party with his last bowl to secure the win and ultimately the tournament.
Good's team of Lex Gibson, Noeline Brennan and Peter Hamel, had three wins and a draw from four games and 19 ends won.
Runners-up were RSA's Graham Campbell, Rosemary Campbell, Tony Ingle and Sally Pillbrow and they were delighted with their efforts throughout the day, claiming some big scalps along the way.
They also had three wins and a draw but had 17 ends.
Third place went to West End's Noel Trounce, Christine Shand, Margaret Phillips and Maree Bowen with three wins and 18 ends.
The Modernite Trophy was won by South Canterbury Centre with Timaru Association runners-up and Geraldine-Temuka Association a close third.
The trophy is contested to repay the workers of the associations and centre for their contributions during the season.
The Centre team of Neville Gould, Alan Gibson, Geoff Wright and Matt Blissett were the only team to record three wins from three games.
