Former Scotland international Brendan Laney has taken the lead in the Timaru Herald's Heartland celebrity pick challenge.
Laney correctly picked every winner from round 1, ahead of Timaru mayor Janie Annear, who picked the winners from three of six games, and South Canterbury rugby manager Cam Kilgour on the panel, who picked two from six.
The Herald has put together an expert panel, who will provide their selections each week of who they believe the winning teams will be in each round of games.
All three are picking South Canterbury and North Otago to be victorious in round 2.
