Several South Canterbury junior tennis players impressed at their annual Southern tournament in Dunedin.

South Canterbury 10s boys dominated with some big wins dropping only one match the entire weekend.

The girls came second and when the scores were combined they topped North Otago, Otago, Southern Lakes and Southland.

The South Canterbury 12s boys were also dominant dropping only two matches.

No 1 and 2, Ben Deeley and Harrison Darling won all their games.

The girls came second and the combined score meant the 12s also won overall.


The top three girls, Teisha Holden, Emily Gilchrist and Caroline Murdoch all played well.

The 14s boys came second losing only eight matches and while the girls did not finish strongly, the team was mainly made up of 12s age group.

The overall results had South Canterbury on 166 points, Southern Lakes 135, Otago 121, Southland 119 and North Otago 37.
