Cameron Alexander outsprinted Bill Gibbs to win the Pye Cup hosted by the St Andrews Cycling Club on Thursday night.
The race was dominated by outward riders but the inability to watch the chasing packs resulted in the break group claiming the win inside the last 100 metres.
Alexander claimed the win and fastest time for the 16km in 23min 23sec from Gibbs, Evan Davey and Craig Mercer.
Saturday's race had the same outcome for the prestigious Hoskin Cup over 48km.
With 12km to go, several groups formed a larger pack of 20 riders who held a 2min 40sec lead from a chasing pack lead by James Archbold and Jeff Best.
However, a strong southerly wind change inside the last 8km and inconsistencies while lapping from the front group resulted in the chasing group getting closer.
As the sprint loomed, James Valentine and Dave Hawkey were too busy watching each other when the chasing group outsprinted them in the last 20m to win the Hoskin Cup.
Glenn Gould was first, Alexander was second and Best third.
