Waimate's Dylan Kennett had a double celebration at the Bike NZ National Track Cycling Championships in Invercargill.
Kennett was presented with the trophy as Bike NZ's "Junior Track Rider of the Year", after an impressive effort at the World Junior Track Championships.
Mid South Canterbury also won the elite title in the men's 4000m team pursuit.
Olympians Marc Ryan and Shane Archbold laid the platform as they overtook Southland in an impressive performance. Waimate pair of Andy van der Heyden and Kennett made up the quartet.
Mid South Canterbury were the fastest qualifiers recording 4m 15.145s and were far too strong for the hosts.
