Sam Gray won the St Andrews Cycling Club's 46km race over the Gordon's Valle course.
Race day handicapper Nigel Leary decided to extend the time gaps out to a staggering 37 minutes, which proved the making of an excellent race.
Inside the last 10km three large groups had formed, with the front-markers holding a 2-minute lead on the chasing pack with another 3 minutes back to the scratch riders.
The two front groups came together with Gray narrowly winning from Phil Burtenshaw, Andrew Mitchell and Malcolm Henham.
Only 20 seconds separated the winning group from the scratch riders with Reon Park recording the fastest time in 1hr 4min 30sec from Glenn Gould and Craig Domigan.
Thursday night's 16km race was dominated by the middle packs with some strong riding by Mark Taylor and Peter Sutton. Andrea Aitkinson outsprinted Denise Keenan to win from Tony Giles, Wayne Anderson and Craig Mercer.
Park took fastest time in 22min 10sec from Gould.
The 8km novice section was taken out by Samantha Sorenson from India Domigan and Matt Sorenson.
Brady Mercer continued his excellent season recording 15min 5sec for fastest time.
