Shaun Campbell has been appointed the new Aoraki region secondary schools' sport director.
Campbell is moving south having been employed by Sport Auckland as the school sport manager and will start his new job on September 24.
Sport Canterbury's regional manager Verna Parker said they are thrilled to have Campbell joining the office in South Canterbury and know that he will bring a valuable skill set to the trust.
Campbell has a Bachelor of Business Studies from Massey University. He has also had a close working relationship with College Sport Auckland to support secondary school participation.
Campbell worked in the United Kingdom as a physical education teacher and sports coach in two different primary schools.
He has also worked for the Counties Manukau Badminton Sports Association as a development officer, delivering badminton to schools and organising tournaments and events.
Campbell replaces Bob Pringle, who resigned in December after five years in the job and Carolyn Mobberley who has been acting in the position.
