Record-breaker Tandia Gooch was in fine form at the Waimate High School two-day swimming sports which finished yesterday.

She broke three intermediate records including the intermediate girls' one length butterfly in 22.30 seconds, which broke the 2010 mark of Ruby Cochrane of 24.03sec. She also broke the intermediate girls' three-length freestyle mark in 1min 11.27sec beating Rebecca McDonald's 1993 time of 1min 13.70sec.

Gooch struck again in the intermediate girls' three-length backstroke in 1min 24.04sec, beating Carla Strong's 1994 record of 1min 27.87sec in the process.

Hannah Dungey broke the intermediate girls' three- length breaststroke mark set by Brianna Butcher in 2013.

Her time of 1min 35.35sec saw her a comfortable winner.
