South Canterbury's participation in the Meads Cup semifinals for the first time has got supporters excited.
By finishing fourth, South Canterbury is heading to Ashburton on Saturday to take on table-topping neighbours Mid Canterbury.
Since it's only 80km up the road, the South Canterbury team is hoping for plenty of support and the union is trying something different to attract attention.
They are holding a "Green & Black Brunch" at Alpine Energy from 11am before the buses depart for Ashburton. Hosts for the brunch will be their infamous mascots Tim & Ru.
Rugby manager Cam Kilgour said all South Canterbury supporters were welcome to join the party but needed to book as seats on the buses were limited.
"Tickets are just $25 for brunch and bus and are available from the South Canterbury Union Office."
Kilgour said supporters needed to remember to wear green and black to support the team. "For those without it, South Canterbury merchandise is available at the union office and at the brunch on Saturday.
The union is also approaching Mid Canterbury to secure grandstands seats.
Kilgour said the game they lost to Mid Canterbury by a last-minute drop goal in referee's time at their last meeting just over a month ago was South Canterbury's for the taking. And for the record, the two provinces have met 126 times with South Canterbury victorious in 76 games, with 45 going Mid Canterbury's way and five drawn.
