Three teams shared the spoils at the triangular bowls tournament played in Ashburton at the weekend.

The South Canterbury men's bowls team had a mixed performance in wet conditions.

South Canterbury, Mid Canterbury and Canterbury Country, had four wins each so the title was shared.

Dan Rooney using his new blue bowls was in outstanding form winning both his games with ease.

Barry Andrews had two narrow losses.

He often held the shot, but some brilliant bowls by the opposition were too classy on the day.

Dave Hanson, Richie Kerr, Noel Williams and Doug Brown had a comfortable win against Canterbury Country but Kerr, Williams and Brown were outclassed in an afternoon game against Mid Canterbury.

Kerr struggled and was beaten by the Mid Canterbury skip. Steve Jones, Dinga Bell, Ken Feathers and Dennis Johnston lost there first game against Mid Canterbury but Bell along with Feathers and Johnston had a great win against Canterbury Country in the triples.

Steve Jones teamed up with Rooney in the pairs to beat Canterbury Country in the afternoon game.
