Timaru motorcycle exponents Jonathan Small and Jarred Pyke had a successful time at Manfeild in the fourth round of the National Motorbike Series.

Running in a similar class to the South Island Streetstock Series, Small defied expectations and kept on his winning ways.

Small finished with a win and a second, while the third race was cancelled due to time issues, leaving Small with the overall weekend win.

Pyke also performed well with a fourth and a fifth placing.

It is his first season of tarmac racing.

Adding to their experience was the fact the Manfeild track runs the opposite way to those in the South Island.
