West End were convincing winners of the champion of champions men's bowls triples title.

The team of Barrie Andrews, Gary Francis and Ken Feathers, were too good for the Pleasant Point trio of Aaron Phillips, Bob Flynn and Ben Morton, 20-8.

Both teams came off tough semi-final victories, with West End defeating Aorangi 18-11, while Pleasant Point had a cliff-hanger against Timaru Town and Country before prevailing 17-15.

The Aorangi bowling green proved a difficult surface for all six players, who struggled with their consistency throughout the match.

Flynn led his Pleasant Point team to an early four-shot lead, but five shots to West End in the next end saw the momentum swing West End's way.

Andrews was leading his side well, playing some top bowls to extend his team's lead.

Pleasant Point tried to stay in touch, but lacked the consistency needed to get back in the match.

Despite some good shots from the younger Pleasant Point bowlers, the West End trio always had an answer.
