Both Air New Zealand and Fiji Airways are adding flights to and from Auckland.
Air New Zealand will boost services from Auckland to San Francisco to 10 flights per week during the peak season from mid December to March 2015.
The carrier currently operates daily return services on the route, which it has flown for 10 years.
A new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will replace the existing 747-400 on the route from mid-July, initially twice weekly and increasing to six services per week.
MORE FIJI FLIGHTS
Fiji Airways, meanwhile, will add four new flights each week between Auckland and Fiji from tomorrow.
Fiji Airways said the arrival of a new regional ATR72 turboprop aircraft for subsidiary Fiji Link had freed up a Boeing 737 aircraft to operate more services to Australia and New Zealand.
The airline has added two early morning departures from Auckland to Nadi on Wednesdays and Sundays and two overnight services from Nadi to Auckland on Tuesday and Saturday.
Fiji Airways now flies 11 times a week between Auckland and Nadi. It has also added two flights to Melbourne, now flying there daily.
The timing comes as Fiji Government figures show visitor arrivals from New Zealand in April increased 18.1 per cent compared to the same time last year.
