An Air New Zealand Airbus A320 has been damaged in a ground handling incident in Samoa.
A company spokesman said the damage was caused by an operator's error.
The Samoa Observer said the plane's cabin door was damaged when a hydraulic ladder slammed into it after an operator mistook the up button for the down.
Air New Zealand said the passengers were returned home on another plane and the A320 has been flown to its engineering base in Christchurch for repair.
