A New Zealand-owned travel agency has won three awards at an Australasian industry awards ceremony.
House of Travel was singled out as an industry leader at the first Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) New Zealand Travel Industry Awards this week.
It won three of the four categories it was nominated for, including best travel agency retail, multi-location.
House of Travel chief executive Mark O'Donnell said the award reflected the company's effort to build long-term relationships with customers.
House of Travel founder Chris Paulsen said "the awards are a tribute to the company's renewed energy and focus".
House of Travel's corporate travel group was awarded best travel agency corporate, multi-location.
Orbit Corporate Travel Wellington was a finalist in the best travel agency corporate, single location, category.
House of Travel Lakers Invercargill beat four other agencies to win the best travel agency, single location, award.
House of Travel Lakers Invercargill owner Tony Laker said he was thrilled by the win.
"Travel agencies should never limit themselves in their offerings and always be pushing themselves to offer more," he said.
All of New Zealand's major travel companies entered the awards, with 20 named as finalists.
