How would an Air NZ plane do in a battle with Smaug the dragon?
The company's latest PR push ahead of the second Hobbit film's premiere in Los Angeles on December 2 doesn't answer that question, unfortunately, but it's a big improvement on recent videos (the Bear Grylls safety video was lame).
Strip out the obvious product placement and there are some subtle touches, including a wayward man in a high-vis vest across which is scrawled the line "elf and safety".
And Dean O'Gorman, Fili the dwarf, does a nice turn raising his eyebrows and generally looking like he's having a good time as the scenery whizzes past.
Overall, it's jaunty and we quite like jaunty.
