Few things bring joy to the Kiwi traveller like quitting your job, grabbing your backpack and hitting the road.

It's part of our coming of age (or retirement renaissance of age) to travel for months on end with little more than a vague plan, a pair of jandals, boardshorts, a micro fibre towel and a Lonely Planet.

Whether it's Europe, South America, Asia, Africa, or any other epic journey, we want to hear about your backpacking journeys.

Where did you go and what were your favourite spots? How long were you on the road? Who did you meet along the way? How did it change your perspective of life, love and travel?

Do you have any advice for those embarking on a backpacking adventure?

Tell us about your big backpacking journey, and don't forget to include photos and videos. Click the green button to get started.
