Conde Nast Traveler readers have named Air New Zealand the world's third best airline.

Air New Zealand has nabbed the bronze in a ranking of the world's best airlines.

Luxury travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler has revealed the results of its Readers' Choice Awards for 2016, which saw Air New Zealand claim third place after Singapore Airlines and Emirates.

"With some of the longest flights in the world, the Kiwi carrier pays close attention to seat comfort; legroom is ample on its widebody," the magazine enthuses.

The Aro Ha Wellness Retreat was also named one of the world's top resorts.

The Aro Ha Wellness Retreat in Glenorchy was named among the top 50 resorts in the world by the magazine, ranked at number 31.

It made another appearance on a list of the top resorts in Australia and the South Pacific, this time taking second place after The Brando in French Polynesia. The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs in Northland also made this list, at number six.

Auckland's Hotel DeBrett earned a spot on a list of the best hotels in Australia and New Zealand, coming in at number four, along with the Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa at number eight.
