I am sure it's lovely to say I've been here or there (having paid lots of money to get there) but we just love going to Waihi Beach.

It's only an hour from home and it's never too crowded, like some places. Over the years we have introduced the children to the beach and as they have grown up they still keep coming back.

I can remember going to see the first Ghostbusters movie there (shame the theatre has gone). They have games for the children on New Year's Day at the surf club.

The number of houses/baches has certainly grown but it still feels like a friendly place where we will keep going back to.
