I've lived in the United States for the past 10 years, during which time I have been lucky enough to visit many beautiful beaches.

There's only one that stands out and it's not in the USA. It's Kaiteriteri Beach in Nelson.

I may be biased, as I've spent many childhood weekends making sand castles and looking for sea shells on this beach, but it is truly one of the most breathtaking beaches in the world.

Golden sands, coves, blue seas that meet the sky. The picture says it all.

On a rare visit home, I make it a point to drive there, even if it's just for 10 minutes... to soak up the view.
