A safety-conscious Wellington Sevens outfit caused flight delays over the weekend.

The New Zealand Herald reports Jetstar was alerted that Sevens punters were spotted on Saturday wearing Jetstar-labelled life jackets.

Jetstar spokesman Phil Boeyen this morning said that, as a "precautionary measure," all aircraft that had travelled through Wellington in the past 24 hours were inspected and there were no concerns.

Only one return flight, between Auckland and Dunedin, was delayed.
