A woman jogging in Hamilton last night was attacked after a van blocked her path, police say.
She had been jogging alone down Grantham St, between the Ferrybank Cafe and the Bridgewater Eye Clinic, when her path was blocked and an occupant of the van got out and attacked her about 7.20pm.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Mortimore of Hamilton City CIB said the woman was able to break free and run towards the boat ramp carpark.
She was offered help by a man near his vehicle in the carpark, and police are keen to speak with him.
"This person is not a suspect but is key to assisting the police enquiry,'' Mortimore said.
Information related to the attack can be passed on to Hamilton police on 07 858 6200 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
