The Hamilton man accused of murdering his 8-month-old son in June can now be named.
Charlie Lackner, 33, a forestry worker, made a brief appearance in the High Court in Hamilton before Justice Ailsa Duffy this morning and pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder.
He is accused of killing son Cassius Takiari who died in Auckland's Starship children's hospital on June 16. The baby had been hospitalised with critical head injuries.
Justice Duffy lifted orders suppressing the names of Lackner and the baby.
Lackner was remanded in custody for a bail application next month.
