A Hamilton teen who attacked a man because he'd given him a shonky tattoo has been warned if he ends up back in court he will go to prison.
Aaron Shortt, 19, went to the tattooist's house with a chain and hit him in the head so hard it broke his dentures.
He was sentenced to 250 hours community work, nine months supervision and order to pay reparations of $372 to the victim.
He told the court he hoped to move to his father's place in the Wairarapa to find a job.
