Seven DICs for 20 year old
A Hamilton judge was today left astounded that a 20-year-old man has clocked up seven drink-driving charges.
Jesse Michael Tudor appeared in Hamilton District Court today on two charges of wilful damage, driving while disqualified, dangerous driving and threatening to kill.
Through his lawyer, Glen Prentice, he admitted the wilful damage charges but pled not guilty to the remaining charges.
Senior Constable Steve Bell said the dangerous driving related to Tudor being a passenger in his mother's car and pulling the handbrake.
Mr Prentice said Tudor will be defending those charges.
In remanding Tudor on bail until January, Judge Merelina Burnett was surprised at the man's history.
"How old are you?"
"20," Tudor said.
"20? And you've got seven drink-driving convictions. I'm sure that's got to be some sort of record."
