Hamilton's historic central city Municipal Pools have won a further stay of execution.
City councillors swayed by public opposition to a staff recommendation that the run-down complex be permanently closed have given supporters until next year to contribute to a rescue plan for the complex before a final decision is made in early 2014.
Pools lobby group Sink or Swim said the decision was a victory for their cause, but meant securing significant funding commitments would be vital by the time council considers its annual budgets early next year.
