A high-level Brazilian agricultural delegation is in Waikato, meeting agribusiness leaders and companies to discuss trade and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
The tour by 14 state government and industry representatives and farmers, from the region of Rio Grande du Sol, includes visits to AgResearch and dairy genetics firm LIC in Hamilton, and the NZ Agribusiness Centre at Mystery Creek.
The group will today visit beef and dairy farms, to see on-farm efficiencies, and practices for beef traceability and milk production increases.
Rio Grande du Sol is one of the biggest states in Brazil and that country's largest dairy-producing region, and is seen as an emerging market for New Zealand.
