Rural warehouse offers strong transport links

A warehouse on State Highway 2 is up for sale in the rural northern Waikato town of Maungatawhiri.

The 3387-square-metre warehouse sits on 2.2 hectares 8 kilometres south of the Bombay Hills and is on the market with vacant possession. At 829 SH2, it is for sale through Colliers by deadline private treaty closing on December 6.

A recent capital valuation assessment suggests a sale price of around $780,000, said agent Ben Herlihy.

A 1970s build, the medium-stud warehouse was originally constructed to be a vegetable packing facility. It was later expanded and reclad for a crate building operation and in recent years has been used for bulk store.

The vendor was a large national company which inherited the property as part of an acquisition of another business, said Herlihy.

The property could be used as a depot, packing shed or bulk store for agriculture or horticulture. "We see it appealing to feed distributors, large scale agricultural or timber operations, trucking firms or agricultural contractors . . . for operations requiring low cost accommodation, especially those which require significant space for truck movements."

Herlihy said the property's location between northern Waikato and South Auckland on a main national highway increases its visibility and provides strong transport links.

"[It's] ideal for businesses requiring access north to Auckland as well as south to the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and beyond."
