Dedicated property: Whitianga-based Coastal Campers’s fleet has grown to nine motorhomes and four caravans.

A lifestyle motorhome business for sale in the holiday playground of the Coromandel Peninsula offers a home and income and a growing and profitable following of tourists, says broker Tourism

Whitianga-based Coastal Campers was founded four years ago and has grown to nine motorhomes and four caravans, says marketing agent Malcolm Teesdale. It is offered for sale as a freehold going concern for $1.69 million.

Coastal Campers operates out of a dedicated property designed for the operation.

Teesdale said 67 per cent of hires are to Kiwis and the balance of vehicles are hired by international tourists.

Of the New Zealand customers, 60 per cent are local peninsula dwellers, he said.

The sale includes a 809 square metre commercial site in the Whitianga town centre, a four bedroom, two bathroom apartment-style home incorporating office and reception.

A large outbuilding hosts a servicing and storage area, purpose-built vehicle washdown area, with dump station and grease trap. The yard is big enough for the whole fleet, which has a replacement value of $600,000. The fleet comprises four six-berth and three four-berth motorhomes, two campervans, four caravans, a transfer/shuttle coach and trailer, and a company car.
