Lodge has 'enormous' potential
What could be one of the Waikato's best-kept secrets, a 40-bed rural lodge and bar on a main tourist route, is for sale.
The Beez Neez Lodge, on 1.25 hectares between Tokoroa and Taupo, is passed by thousands of cars daily completely oblivious to its existence, says marketing agent Gillian Malcolm.
With access to an additional lease block of 3.1ha, the two-storey, three-bedroom, two-bathroom lodge has a huge upstairs reception room accessed by a double-width staircase. The 40-bed unit is a combination of bunks and beds with shower and bathroom facilities and kitchen, and there is a one-bedroom cottage at the gate, Malcolm says.
The CV is $520,000. The property will be sold by auction on February 21.
Downstairs storage areas could be renovated for extra accommodation, she says.
The lodge also has two big sheds and four-car garaging.
Malcolm believes the property is "seriously undervalued" and has enormous unrealised potential.
The owner is selling because of ill health.
