Fast food giant Wendy's has added another notch to its Hamilton belt with the opening of its second stored in the city.
The $4 million Te Rapa Road restaurant opened on Monday. Wendy's first Hamilton store opened in Frankton six months ago.
Hamilton is fertile ground for the American company.
When the Frankton store opened it set a world record for the most sales in its first week of any Wendy's anywhere in the world.
In that week fans of their deep-fried fare at their way through more than 20,000 burgers, 200 kilograms of potatoes and 150kg of chilli.
More than 70 local jobs had been created between the two stores, the company says.
