A small Cambridge company has gone from start up to presenting at Xerocon.
Tomorrow Cambridge web design company Rocketspark is presenting to more than 1000 accountants at Xero's annual conference.
Rocketspark, founded in 2009 by Waikato University friends, became a Xero Add-on partner in November last year, which immediately entitled it to a stand at the annual conference, in New Zealand, America, the United or Australia.
Co-founder Jeremy Johnson said it would be a great opportunity for the company to get exposure.
"I think over 1000 accountants are going to be there, so that's a great opportunity, but the other side of it is meeting the Xero team, and meeting other top level team members from other Xero Add-ons," he said.
"The networking is going to be huge on both sides."
Xero was unable to confirm how many Waikato companies were attending the conference, but said 36 Add-on partners would be presenting during the two-day conference, from Australia, America, the United Kingdom, Taiwan and Singapore.
Johnson said it would be Rocket-spark's first time at the New Zealand conference, although a London-based colleague had attended the British conference as a "punter" last year.
"It's kinda cool that he got to meet the CEO of Vend [point-of-sale software company] and these kind of key people, and we'll hopefully have the opportunity to continue the conversation in New Zealand. So that kind of global aspect is quite exciting, and I'd like to think we'll be exhibiting at Xerocon UK next time that rolls around."
He said the company's customer-base in Britain was much smaller than the "hundreds" it currently had in New Zealand. "Where we're at over there is basically on-the-ground networking to build a base and build case studies."
