Telecom: 2500 customers broadband out
Telecom says about 2500 broadband customers in Tauranga, Auckland, and Napier are unable to connect to the internet.
Spokeswoman Lucy Fullarton said the outage began at 8pm last night. “Our technicians are investigating the root cause and are working on a fix as a matter of urgency.”
A customer in Northland said he had also been unable to connect since 9.30pm last night. He was on hold to Telecom’s call centre in the Philippines for an hour but they told him they did not have the authority to put out an advisory on Telecom’s network service status page, he said.
Telecom had a separate issue on Sunday which prevented customers sending and receiving Xtra email through clients such as Microsoft Outlook for much of the day. Webmail was not affected.
