I'm a regular traveller so I really appreciate that most of the major international airlines now offer free mobile apps.

This week we look at one that's been around for a while and of most use to our readers - Air New Zealand's mPass app.

The first time you use the mPass app you can connect it to your airpoints account.

Then when using the app you then have access to a list of all your upcoming flight bookings and can check your airpoints balance.

When travelling in New Zealand, you can use the mPass app to generate your boarding pass in an electronic form (on screen). This makes life easier at the airport, though sadly it is not yet available for international flights.

Also included in most versions of the app are maps of the terminals at each of New Zealand's larger airports.

mPass is currently available for most mobile platforms alongside Air New Zealand's mobile website: m.airnz.co.nz
